VISA REQUIREMENTS AT THE CHINESE
EMBASSY IN DUBLIN

(1)For tourist visa

--A completed visa application form, on which one recent
passport-size photo is required;
--A valid original passport with blank pages(the passport
should be valid up to six-months);
--Travel information(return ticket, hotel booking, travel
itinerary etc.);
--For travel to Tibet, please contact the Tourist Bureau
of Tibet(Fax: 0086-891-6834632,Tel:0086-891-6834207) for
official approval before applying for a Chinese visa.
(2)For business, work or student visa
--The above-mentioned completed visa application form and
passport;
--For business visa, an invitation letter from the Chinese
government or Chinese company(faxed letter is acceptable);
--For long term work visa for more than 6 months, besides
the above mentioned invitation, an employment licence for
foreigners issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security
or the State Bureau of Foreign Experts;
--For student visa, a photocopy of the visa application
form for international students(JW-202) issued by the Ministry
of Education of China;
--For student, work visa, a physical examination record
is required.
(3)For transit visa
--A valid visa to the next country of destination;
--A letter of invitation or a return ticket.
(4)For group visa
--A tourist group comprising at least 6 members;
--A confirmation letter/fax from the authorized Chinese
agency or tourist bureau;
--A name list of the group in triplicate and a front sheet
covering the information about the group.
(5)Visa validity
--Single or double entry visa is usually valid for 3 months
for entry from the date of issue. Multi entry visa is valid
for 6 or 12 months and only issued according to invitation
for business visitor. The duration of stay of visa may vary.
(6)Passport validity
--Single or double entry visa within 3 months requires a
passport valid for at least 6 months, multi entry within
6 months require one that is valid for at least 9 months,
and multi entry within a year, valid for at least 15 months.
(7)Visa fee ( EURO)
Irish citizen: 16.00 for single entry,
24.00 for double entry,
32.00 for 6 month multi-entry
48.00 for annual multi-entry
Others: 33.00 for single entry,
50.00 for double entry,
66.00 for multi-entry
100.00 for annual multi-entry
Express service: one day collection, 33.00 extra
two days collection, 23.00 extra
(collection on the same day before 12:00 AM if the application
can be submitted before 11:00AM or otherwise on the following
day)
(Observation: NO express service for American citizen)
(8)Under normal conditions, it takes five working days to
process a visa, counting from the date when the application
is accepted. The tourist visa is usually valid for 3 months
from the date of issue, it is recommended therefore that
the application should be submitted to the Embassy not early
than one month before the trip.
(9)Please be advised that the Embassy will not accept any
mail application as from April 1st, 2005. But the application
and collection can be done on the applicant's behalf.
(10)Other conditions may apply.
Note:
* Foreign tourists are not permitted to assume unapproved
employment in China.
* No vaccination is required for short-term visitors (less
than 3 months) except for those who come from/via epidemic
areas. A health certificate is required for those who stay
in China for more than one year.
* Foreign tourists are not allowed to bring into China their
bikes and vehicles.
* The visa application form may be photocopied.
