From 30 November to 8 December 2009, the Chinese tourism delegation went to Australia and New Zealand to carry out Expo-themed promotion events ,aiming at publicizing Expo 2010 Shanghai and promoting China Expo Tour, and they achieved optimal results.

The delegation consists of 30 members from the tourism administrations of nine provinces and municipalities of Beijing, Liaoning, Shanghai, Fujian, Anhui, Guangdong, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Qinghai and some tourism companies. On 1st, 4th and 7th of December, the delegation respectively went to Sydney (of Australia), Auckland (of New Zealand) and Melbourne (of Australia) and organized three large scale events named “China Tourism Night for Promoting Expo 2010”. At the events, representatives of CNTA briefed the attendees on the development of China’s tourism market and the significance of Expo Tour promotion; representatives of Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration gave an introduction to Expo Shanghai and some Expo Tour routes; promotional videos on Expo Shanghai were played and artistic performances with distinct Chinese features were staged. Before the three large-scale events, informal seminars of Sino-Australian tourism sector and Sino-New Zealand tourism sector were held.
